Pretty, pretty good for NYC

I was in NYC on vacation recently and spent two consecutive nights at Hoops, coming back the second night because the first night was so enjoyable. Hoops is located on 33rd between Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building and convenient to several subway lines. Don't think about driving in Midtown NYC.

Heading there the around 1 a.m. first night I was handed a coupon good for free cover about 2 blocks away from the club. The deal was I had to check my coat....no cost by tips were collected....and do a 2-drink minimum. Ordered a beer and it was $13. I'm assuming it was the cost of 2, but waitress never brought me a second bottle and never hounded me for another drink.

Soon was joined at my table by Caravella from Latvia who just pressed herself into me and kept looking deeply into my eyes the whole time we go to know each other. She explained the dance pricing and I opted for the standard bench-area dances, $20 a song. Not any privacy, but there were no bouncers hounding over the space, either. The VIP room rates were like $400 for a half hour and went up from there. Not going to do that with anyone I've met for the first time.
