Standard fare, overpriced
I visited Flashdancers on a Saturday evening/Sunday evening around 1:30 AM. Cover was $20 at the door, plus a $3 coat check fee. No one bothered to check my ID at the door. The entrance leads into a "bar" room, which is separated from the main stage room. When I arrived, the bar room was packed with overflow from the main stage room (apparently I wasn't the only one who had trouble finding a seat). I'd say that the ratio of patrons to dancers was 3:1.
The main stage room revolves around a center, oval stage. At any given point in time, there were about three to four girls working the stage. After a song, they would rotate positions. The majority of the dancers were Eastern European, Latina, or African American (i also saw two asians). I was surprised to find that most of the dancers were on the frumpier side (this being Manhattan, I expected there to be more toned bodies).
Table seating was hard to find, and many of the patrons had to stand awkwardly off to the side, next to the wall. There's a long row of benches that lines the perimeter of the stage room. This is where most of the floor lap dances occured. Dances are standard fare ($20/song), and featured light one way contact. The big burly looking bouncers kept an ever watchful eye on the bench, so anything beyond occasional brushing of breasts/ass was frowned upon. Be prepared to flag down any dancers that catch your eye, the hot ones do not need to advertise. Also, watch out for the upsellers who spend the majority of a dance upselling the champagne (an outrageous $1700 fee) instead of dancing.
