This is effectively the only club...

This is effectively the only club outside the French Quarter that is worth going to in New Orleans. It used to be that there were a few out in New Orleans East (I wish Roxbury would come back!) and that a few in Jeff Parish (to the West) actually existed, but weren't any good. The New Orleans clubbing scene has never been very good, never mind the "Sin City" reputation, since they cleaned it up in the 1980s. There's a lot of "high class," low mileage, high cost, unattractive dancers, set-ups in the French Quarter. They spend all their energy on mirrors and plush chairs (which is OK, I guess) and not on the girls' appearance or access. Visions is different. A whole network of girls have figured out that this is the place where the restrictions of the French Quarter don't apply as stringently; where you can get ample parking and sneak in and out of town straight off the interstate; and where money is flowing more freely. Whereas the college boys who drop in to New Orleans for a weekend will go to a tittie bar in the Quarter for the fun of it and buy one drink each, tip one girl once one dollar each, and then leave with what they think of as an "experience" behind them; at Visions, construction workers who are being paid in cash are spending a lot more than a typical French Quarter patron. Girls have figured this out. On weekdays, especially early, it's a buyer's market, with many more girls selling their services than clients trying to buy. But they know that if they hold out for the evening, the room will be packed. Unfortunately, Visions doesn't have a very good dedicated lap dance area, and getting OTC activity is rare because the girls are scoring good prices during regular clubbing hours. So, it's a "real" strip club in both the positive and negative senses. If you know girls who want to dance in NOLa, send them here. I don't think you'll be getting a lot of extras, though the situation is fluid and dynamic, as they say. Take a misery tour of New Orleans East if you're out here during daytime, check out some trucks underneath houses -- victims not of hurricanes, but of the man-made disaster of poor hydrological efforts; and realize that your country abandoned this classic city. Let's work to bring Sin City back in all its sinful glory!
