After a lengthy break I made my return to the Electric Blue Cafe on Saturday night. This club has always been hit or miss as far as talent goes. But always a sure thing if I was hard-up and needed a "release";) That was my situation after I learned that both my ATFs at different clubs were on the rag. So anyway I decided to make a trip to Blue.

I. The Basics-

This joint is located right on the side of I-84 next to the exit 68 interchange. It's located in the Subway parking lot in the basement of the building across the lot (under the pizza parlor and auto supply). Admission remains $10 at night. There's no metal detector, no ID checking, no bullshit. Orlando still mans the front door. Jimmy (aka Fat Albert with a cowboy hat) is still the bouncer. The weird-looking DJ who plays a mix of rock, rap and techno is still here as is Kenny the owner who still hangs out looking plastered. Since my last visit they have finished-up their remodeling. They added a couple of VIP lounge-style seating areas and replaced some of the old chairs and tables and brightened things up a bit to make it look more upscale chicque. The net effect has been to put lipstick on pig if you what I mean. The stalls in the men's room still don't have doors and the toilets still don't work right and have a mound of shit clogging them. They still have the same bar wenches working, although they picked up a hot young waitress (wish she danced!). A bottle of Bud is still $5. The custie base here is still a mix of townie hicks, convenience store owners that look like Apu and a few n!gg@s who drift up here from nearby Hartford.
