Cuban sandwich
I know that there has been a lot of conversation about the Cuban presence at Wacko's. Some like it, others don't, but I found something to like the other day when I was in Jax on business. I finished up early and stopped by Wacko's before braving I-95 south en route to my beach condo.
You can't beat Wacko's happy hour two-for-one pricing in the afternoon, but that's not why I stopped in.
I took a seat at the bar and was soon approached by a cute girl, heavily accented English, said she was from Havana. We managed somehow to have a conversation and were soon joined by a friend of hers, a countrywoman also from Cuba who spoke better English. Apparently the two of them have a habit of double-teaming guys and I was reluctant to fall for it considering the relatively high price of private dances there ($30 a pop per dancer) but I was feeling the effects of happy hour and relented and the three of us retired to the back room. It was relatively empty and my two new friends selected a corner booth, which is usually a good sign at Wacko's because it is out of the direct sight of the bouncer, although it seems the bouncer doesn't really care what shenanigans transpire back there as long as the club gets it cut.
