Cool For What It Is

Decided to check the place out after reading about it on here. Parked further down the street past the curve and walked up to the club. Paid the $10 cover and for whatever reason the guy gave my ID to another guy. Second guy looked at it, gave it back to the first guy, and the first guy returned it to me.

Went inside and La Pearl looks like a neighborhood bar. Long bar area with a few girls giving dances and some guys standing around. I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb, and I probably did. The two chairs at the left end of the bar were taken, so that wasn't going to happen. Bathroom is on the right side, as is another room that looks like it's being used for storage. Some guy kept taking tools and stuff in there like he was building something. TV was playing the 5:00 news, and I have no idea where the music was coming from. I imagine there was a jukebox of some sort since I didn't hear a DJ.

After a few minutes I went upstairs to Outer Space (stairs are on the right immediately as you enter). The girls' dressing room is to the right when you get to the top of the stairs, with everything else to the left. There's a stage with a pole that no one got on. Long bench for dances, and a bar at the left end. Two TVs: one by the stage that was showing some 70s Asian movie, the other by the bar showing the news. A girl I saw downstairs asked me if I wanted a dance. Ended up getting two. A lot of stick shifting, but not really much to run home about. She made an offer, but I refused.
