A return to Scarlet Lounge

Some of us like fancy gentlemen's clubs and some of us like dive bars. Portland has only a few of the former, but plenty of the latter. Fortunately for me, I like dives. But a disturbing trend in recent years is Portland dive bar strip clubs, have begun to price themselves more like fancy ass gentlemen's clubs. But generally speaking the talent or services rendered don't live up to the high prices.

Years ago I stopped going to the old Pitiful Princess because to be brutally honest, the dancers were scary, skanky or enormous. Or all three. But I have been hearing rumors of a turnaround in the talent department, while maintaining dive bar prices. So a return visit was needed to investigate.

Not much has changed, layout is the same, and nothing has been done, including cleaning, to the men's room since the last time I was there 2 years ago. It's a small place, maybe 1000sqft max, one stage, a bar, a few tables scattered around.
