I have gone to the Circus off and on for more than 30 years and have seen it change considerably — and for the better. I don’t believe the physical plant has changed since I started going there. There is a single relatively short runway style dance floor, maybe 30 feet or so. It starts almost as soon as you enter the club. Bar stools on all four sides and some stools along the wall. Cash register at the end closest to the door and that’s where the barmaid hung out.

The barmaid, whose name escapes me, used to be a dancer on the Block. I told her I was a longtime patron, and after discussing my advanced age, she asked if I was interested in some more mature and experienced company. I passed but may take her up on the offer next time I see her. Nice rack and nicer personality. She is a significant upgrade over Miss Susan (or Susie) who had haunted the place for decades it seems.

The major attraction of the club is the relatively cheap drinks ($7 a beer), accommodating ladies, and an easily negotiated takeout menu. I wound up spending time with two ladies, bought a few drinks ($20 each), and got considerable bar action. After a few rounds, the bar maid included a beer for me with each drink I bought for the ladies. Senior citizen discount? One of the ladies was a slender MILF-ish blonde with a gravelly voice that I had run into at a number of bars on the block, but she always seems to return to Circus. The second was a younger lady whose sister (half sister?) also worked there. Her sister was less attractive than the one entertaining me. Both the MILF and the younger lady were very hands-on and offered digits and takeout quite readily.
