Disappointing Friday visit

Stopped in to NY Dolls on a muggy Friday evening. It’s one of the few clubs downtown and I happened to be in the area.

I’m not too fond of the layout. There is a bar area in the front with a small side stage. The main dance area is in the back and is a boxy shape with tables all around it. The front area is quiet: there was a girl on the side stage but they weren’t thrilled to be there. There were a few girls chatting with guys at the bar, though they too seemed out of it.

There was some action going on in the back room, though it wasn’t my type. Many of the girls are Russian and there is a bit of a hustler vibe (first words out of several girls mouths were “do you want a dance” before even introducing themselves). There were very few patrons so I would’ve expected more hospitality.
