Late Summer Sunday night at The Wheel

Late Summer visit to Players Club a.k.a. "the Wheel." Still light out when I pulled up with the long summer nights, thunderstorms and lightning flashing in the distance. Parking lot half full, in an industrial part of town, really dead on the weekends. Felt safe. BYOB place, so pick something up along the way, there are a few places on Eastern if you drive in that way. Also a new marijuana dispensary on North Point Blvd, where the old Burger King was and across from sketchy-looking Whiskey River, need to check it out sometime.

Cover is $25 every time, and if you are renewing your membership, it goes up to $40. High cover keeps out the riff-raff, and BYOB saves you $ in the end. I've read if you show out-of-state ID they may give you a lower cover, but I'm in-state so can't verify. There's a small "bar" with mixers, soda, ice, and bottles of water ($5).

Two stages, but on Sundays only 1 is in use. Girls dance to two songs and then mingle with the customers, talk with each other at the bar, or run off to the back and smoke. There were a *ton* of girls there, IDK if I've ever seen this many on a Sunday. Girls definitely outnumbered the customers. Maybe there were some old dancers, just dropping in (Autumn, Carmen, Faith, Roxie, J-Lo) to make a quick buck? But add that on top of the new, younger girls there and there had to be 15+. As maybe is typical on Sundays or off-peak times, some of the girls were pretty much exclusively sitting/dancing with their regulars. One younger dude held down Wendy for the entire time I was there, good for him. He must have been dropping a lot of money (topless dances are $30; VIP is $60 to the club and per-dance price is negotiated with the girls directly). Girls were mostly athletic/skinny white girls, or medium, only one black girl.
