Okay in a pinch

I consider DV Lakewood to be firmly middle of the road for Washington. If it's your first time, expect a $20 evening cover charge, "free" sodas and water (no booze in WA state clubs) and free parking in a nice-sized lot on the side of the building.

The bouncers and waitresses are generally nice and I'd rate the girls here are probably better than average. Dances start at $20 but some girls will try to upsell you on more expensive dances for the promise of a better time. In my experience it's totally inconsistent whether spending more will actually get you more. I've found more consistently better times at some of the independent clubs north of Seattle. Check out the reviews of the clubs without Deja Vu or Dreamgirls in the name.

The dances this night we're fine, but there wasn't any stick shifting which is what I wanted. I have been to this club a lot over the years. I always expect more and usually leave a little disappointed. The key is to manage expectations - go hang out with two or three cute girls, have some laughs, and go home. And it's a great place to hang out in the summer if you're like most people in WA state and don't have AC. Don't expect more and you'll probably be okay. MD
