A Philly Staple

Club Risque on Delaware Avenue is something of an institution, but I haven't been there in at least five years, maybe more, so on the way out of town around 5 pm on a weekday evening, I decided to see if anything had changed. Not much has! The decor may have been updated a bit, but it's still upscale looking with attractive dancers.

You enter, pass through a metal detector (not staffed during the day) and a small lobby, and the bar is ahead of you, with tables off to the right and the private dance area to the left. Inside the bar is the stage area, with two poles and, at least when I visited, two dancers. I sat at the bar and I found the bartender quite professional and friendly; she even gave me a drink recommendation for next time based on my selection.

Lighting, sound and the atmosphere in general are good quality.
