Follies Used To Be The Shit. Used To.
Follies used to be the shit. Used to. After a nine-month hiatus mostly due to my involvement with a FWB that I met on a dating site (that’s a whole story in itself), I made a series of visits back to this club beginning in March 2018 with my most recent visit being this past Sunday July 22nd. Since my return, I have been attending the club twice a month. I agree with the general consensus that the club is on a slow decline in both dancer quality and also to me customer service.
The layout has been discussed before so I won’t go into details about that. Follies is free to enter on weekdays. On weekends, there is a mandatory $5 cover charge. If you leave the club and try to re-enter then you must pay the $5 fee again. Valet parking used to be $5 but the two times that I used it this year ( I mostly park across the street in the Plaza Fiesta Shopping Center) the price went up to $10. You may be able to bypass the mandatory valet parking if you arrive early enough; I’ll say within 30 minutes of opening at the latest. It is safe enough to park across the street during the day while the stores are open as long as you don’t make it too obvious. Some people also park next door at the Pep Boys. The only time I really use valet is when there is very bad weather and don’t want the hassle of carrying an umbrella in the club.
Most drink prices range from $5.50 for a bottle of beer up to $10 for mixed drinks. I’m not much of a drinker especially in strip clubs so I can’t tell you if drinks are strong or watered down. I only stick with beer when I go to strip clubs. Sometimes the waitress will also hand you a pack of peanuts or trail mix with your beverage. There’s also a “free” buffet around 4:00 PM that varies from day to day. Most visits I don’t eat the buffet but when I do the food is fairly delicious and cooked well. A tip of at least $1 is generally appreciated.
