Midway Island has become Extinct

Several months ago there was a major drug bust and series of arrests at Midway Island. However, the club carried on. No more! I drove up to the club and noticed no cars there. There was a handwritten sign on the door that said "Closed for Electrical Repairs." I reached out to a dancer I knew who worked there. She told me that Bruce, the owner, had lost his license to sell beer and tried to carry on just selling water and soft drinks. That worked okay for awhile. The bigger problem was that there were undercover officers in the club almost every day and the customers could spot their vehicles in the parking lot. Business declined and the dancers moved on to other clubs and/or other towns around Oklahoma City. Eventually Bruce threw in the towel and closed the club. No one is sure if, or when, Midway Island will re-open. Another iconic Oklahoma City strip club has become extinct.
