So I'm pretty smitten with Casa Diablo. I've visited a couple other Portland clubs (Mary's and Club Rouge mostly) while staying in a hotel downtown, but after reviews I decided to grab a Lyft and head out of the center of the city a bit to try Casa Diablo. Holy shit was that worth the $10 Lyft ride (ok, $20 round trip). I ended up going both Tuesday and Wednesday, but I'm combining the two nights into one review. There was no cover, though I think that's different on the weekends.

In general the vibe is really positive. I love that the dancers have a lot of freedom to be who they want to be. This was most noticeable in footwear. Specifically, it's the only club I've seen that is totally okay with sneakers, dance shoes, or even barefoot on stage. It was super refreshing. If there's such a thing as a feminist strip club this feels like it - the women have power and freedom of expression.

The result is that the dancers are really friendly and positive. You'll see a wide range of body types (albeit mostly white) and personality. They're nearly all impressive dancers, doing some insane spins and tricks on the tall, spinning poles. Most of these women would probably be the best dancer at any other club. Some dancers also occasionally do more wild shows involving dildos and such, though only one of those happened in the four hours I was there (and I was outside so didn't really see it).
