Short but sweet Saturday night.
$8 valet mandatory, prompt and courteous as usual. $20 cover by the pleasant enough woman at the desk, earning a magnanimous $1. Passed the bouncer indicating that I was headed upstairs, so no booth or seating needed. There is a bathroom upstairs behind the bar that is private, but it often stinks like an outhouse, given there is no exhaust fan installed, be forewarned. (a well appointed outhouse, granted) Saturday night around 10:30pm and all the upstairs bar stools were already taken, so I took a quick scan from the balcony and returned downstairs. I noticed that unlike the upstairs bar seating, there were a couple spots behind the downstairs bar, (and a few booths were also available fwiw.) The back row bar stools are good because you can casually watch the main stage around the stack of liquor bottles, without having to twist away from the bar and be overly approachable by the less attractive dancers (unless that is your thing. I always wished I liked records in the bargain bin, back in the day). After my last hangover, I started with an Odoul's for $9.50 and a bottled water (also $9.50 be forewarned), planning on a possibly long night. However, I immediately spotted a favored dancer on stage, and went over and tipped her to let he know I was interested. She had a couple more stage sets and came over just as another PL was preparing to take the stool next to me, but he retreated as she approached. There's always room for rubbing up against me with no other stool open, in any case, np. We had a good convo, I bought us cocktails ($14? each), and after drinking, back up the stairs where the room charge is $25, but I tipped $5 to the VIP bouncer. He seemed to really appreciate it, practically gushing, so I guess it is not all that common, and normally I don't tip for a room either...but I was living it up I guess. So I took a 3/$100 dance set followed by some handiwork for another 3, as this dancer doesn't do BBBJ, or FS, which is a pity but it is what it is. This might be on the high side, depending on the dancer, but I was enjoying myself, and I don't like to be rushed, sorry fellow PLs. After another overpriced water, unwinding, off I went. There were quite a few attractive dancers 7-9s. I would have been happy with four or five of them, all $$$$ though, be forewarned. On the other hand I dress up a bit, so that might influence the quotes I get to the high side, ymmv. There is a trade off between dressing down and possibly not getting the top girls' attention at all vs. dressing up and having a tougher time negotiating prices down, because they know you can afford it. Weekday nights are more negotiable in any case. I believe these are called "First World Problems".
