Old standby

Morning flight into Philly with nothing to do until evening. Drove the rental car to Burlington to see if the Playhouse had changed. After all these years it’s still pretty much the same, including many of the entertainers. No valet, no cover, and I left $10 for a soft drink and told the barkeep to keep the change. Few patrons, mostly retirees which is common in the mid afternoon. The incessant dollar parade started quickly, but soon enough an old favorite, Mercedes, stopped by and the parade ended there. I chatted with her for about 15 minutes before heading to the back rooms. Three $30 songs (+$10 tip) later her job was finished and I was ready for a return drive to Philly. The drive took longer than the visit, but I was satisfied to learn that an old standby is still delivering the goods. Need to find excuses to visit more often.
