Slow Wednesday Night at the Parrot
The club is located outside the eastern edge of El Paso, so it's a bit of a trek if you're coming out from the city. But it's generally worth the drive. Cover was $10, and when you walk in, the club looks really promising. They did some renovations, and the front lobby looks nice - probably nicer than it needs to be, with some TVs on the walls promoting their future events (feature dancers, etc.). Once you pay, you walk down the hallway past some their office and the men's room, and head into the main club.
There are some pool tables to the right, as well as a pretty large bar where some folks hang out (including the girls). And in the middle, there is a large stage with a runway for the primary stage, as well as two other poles for the busier nights.
I enjoy this club because they are generally a little slower on the week, and they let you smoke indoors (they are outside the El Paso city limits). The waitresses are normally pretty good - prompt service, will make change for you, and are friendly. The music is normally OK - normally there's some variety (I think that they let the girls choose the songs), some hip hop, some rock, the occasional country song.
