Nickle & Dime
This club goes through ups and downs; unfortunately it is presently on the downslide. Perhaps another new manager or owner, since the current issues seem management-related. First, they've kept the "free" daytime admission but now require payment for two $6 drinks at the door (sort of like TJ's in Stanton), and then serve you one drink and later try to charge you for the second -- until you remind them (and argue with them). Doorman was reluctant to tell me how many dancers were on-site until I paid; then he lied (he said 5 -- there was only one that I saw, in 20 minutes; and she was chubby). And then he hit me up for a tip! Club is looking worn and the bathroom is still a mess. Sat there in the dark with 3 other customers for 20 minutes with only Big Bertha (not actually her name but she never got on stage or introduced herself so I'll name her as I please). I finally asked where the other four dancers might be, and the bartender looked confused and said both "in back" and "on their way." Now this could have just been a bad day for them, as this place has recently had some decent lookers and 4-5 dancers per visit. Or maybe they upped the pay-out demand and dancers split; I don't know. But based on this visit this club is going back down the shitter. Hopefully bad word of mouth and market forces will have their magic effect and right the ship. But for now, this club goes into the "try again in six months" bin.
