Not bad, for a shithole

It’s been almost two years since my last visit to Flashers. I had a mildly entertaining time then, but saw Goldmonger’s relatively upbeat recent review and decided to try it out again. I’m glad I did.

I pulled into the parking lot at about 4:00 p.m. on Friday—same cramped, potholed parking lot; same ratty, ramshackle, looking building. The $5 cover was taken by a skinny, heavily tattooed guy who looked like someone you would expect to see on a wanted poster at the Post Office.

I read about last year’s raid in the news. Allegedly, the place was closed down for a little while—not for drugs or prostitution—but for building code violations of some sort. If they had corrected anything, I don’t know what it could possibly be. Inside, it was the same worn out, broken down looking club. Shadowcat summed it up best in a recent review: this place is a shithole.
