Was in Raleigh on Monday afternoon and decided to visit TMC. I arrived about 12:30 and the new door girl didn't charge me to get in. Started to go into the main stage area, but found it was roped off. Apparently, the club is doing additional work in the main area, and will be using the After Hours lounge area instead in May. I had not seen this part of the club since it is usually only open late at night. I was very impressed! It is a very elegant space with an old money feel - lots of wood paneling, trophies on the walls, hardwood bar and a stone fireplace in the center. This space used to be the old Vinnie's Steakhouse, and it still retains much of the Vinnie's atmosphere. It's a more intimate setting than the main club - one wall is taken up by a low stage, the opposite is the bar, and then in between are only about 15 tables. The private dance area is upstairs, and unfortunately, it is very well lit and monitored. They do have 3 VIP themed suites - which looked very interesting, especially the 50 Shades Room. Will definitely be making a trip back to TMC in May - I like this new space much better than the Main Stage!
