Meh Friday at 39th Street

I went out with my young and delicious sugar baby wanting to show her a sexy time at the Lido Club but we were denied entry so...Plan B: Sapphire on 39th Street! My girl had never been to a strip club but it way into girls and I figured we might get some extra attention as the rare, non-jabroni pair of customers. In a nutshell, I had an okay time; nothing new nor interesting to me but my girl got some extra nice attention and I think it ended up serving the purpose of getting her excited about me the rest of the evening ;)

We showed up about 11:00pm on Friday; primetime. There was no line at the door; the doorman was very jovial and friendly. Cover charge for each of us was $20. There was a fine young woman working the coat check just inside the door and she was pleasant as well. Once inside the club the staff greeted us and showed us to a private table in an area against the outer wall, a distance from the main stage/catwalk area. This was fine as I didn't want to get right in the thick of things until I had a chance to settle in. The waitress was cute and bubbly but not super attentive as I think she was the only one serving the entire floor area. There were always well dressed bouncers sauntering around and the one nearest us was friendly and made sure we were okay on several occasions. I have to wonder if we were treated a little better than most because my girl looked so much cuter and interesting than the dancers?

The decor, lighting, furniture, etc. was a little cheap, beat up and shabby but still classy enough to not really offend most clientele...who appeared to be your average, young, middle-class joe. Nobody in the club stood out as extremely well-off or deserving of any extra attention. I just don't think this club is catering to the actual uppermost-scale that roams NYC nightclubs. The main space is cavernous and not well lit so unless you sit up next to the stage, you'll not get a great view of any flesh. There is a downstairs area but I didn't go there...it might just be bathrooms?
