Grand Prix Weekend

Came in during Grand Prix Weekend, which is a big weekend for Montreal so all the clubs were generally busy with patrons and well stocked with dancers. Coming from America, Canadian strip clubs are great. You pay a small “cover” (you pay the doorman to take you to an open seat) and aren’t expected to tip again. If you tip while the girls dance on stage they will usually bring you up and give you a short dance on stage.

The club was very near to where we were staying in Old Port and actually was our first stop on our whole trip. We wandered in around 7pm and stayed for a couple hours so it wasn’t the most incredibly busy period. The club is on the smaller side, it’s one room with a square stage in the middle. Small private telephone style booths for private dances are along the outside. It isn’t an incredibly large space and there may have been around 14 girls working at the time; enough working the room to not feel neglected but not like an all you can eat buffet like The Cheetah in ATL. The ceiling/pole isn’t very high so no extreme aerials. I went here, Chez Paree and Kama Sutra and from my experience the pole dancing is relatively remedial in Canadian clubs as compared to the American ones I am used to (939 in Hawaii is my most regularly visited). They are full nude here which is a definite plus, especially if you are coming from a state that won’t take bottoms off or even worse, pasties.

There is a small, maybe 15-foot bar in the back. The drinks are reasonably priced. We were paying $5CD plus tip for beers which with the exchange rate is VERY cheap compared to what we were used to. We ended up being approached by a couple girls at the bar and chatted with them for a while before getting dances. They were friendly and cute, maybe 7s, so nothing worth leaving your wife over. They were some of the better-looking ones in the whole club; in general, I think some of the other clubs get more of the top end talent but I often prefer less ritzy clubs and the higher prices and attitudes that come with them. Lapdances were $10CD, again VERY CHEAP compared to what we were used to. The lapdances were full nude, I think that is up to the dancer’s discretion (they didn’t take their bottoms off at Chez Paree and Kama Sutra) so it was certainly a plus. Touching was encouraged, only got a light, playful scolding when I went too far south.
