Change Is Good... Or Is It?
It’s been far too long since I’ve gone clubbing locally, and tonight I wanted to expand my options a little compared to my usual stops. I decided to take the night off since a long distance friend was in town and he invited me to go out clubbing with him. I figured ‘perfect!’ since the only reviews I’ve written lately are from out of town.
I suggested that we stop at Paradise because the first time I went there was when the club was only 3 months old. Back then, the building on the outside was still a little plain, the stage and seating arrangement could have used some more work, and the bar drinks were average at best. Since then, they’ve extended the time they open to 4 PM instead of 7 PM, I’ve been told they have a very good happy hour and offer free drinks until 7 PM (I assume this is limited to beers and basic cocktails, but I could be wrong), and now have a kitchen. I’ve attempted to try and find their dinner menu online since they don’t have their own website and primarily use Facebook and Instagram to advertise themselves. I could only find photos of some of the food they served - which looked alright, but nothing extravagant.
My friend suggests that we could take a peek inside of Paradise to see what their food menu offers and how the club in general has been doing since they’ve been open for about a year now. If I wasn’t impressed, we would go to another club for dinner. I like this plan and we make our way to Baymeadows to see that the parking lot is very full save for the spaces behind the lot. We manage to find a tight spot right beside the club and make our way towards the entrance. They added a bunch of LED lights to the shrubbery surrounding the lot (I am the only person that would point this out. LOL) and they did some renovating on the outside of the building as well, so it’s a lot more flashy than it first started out. Two bouncers are standing beside the entrance, and they greet us as we approach. He asks for my ID, and I hand it to him before he does a bag search. Then he does a pat down on my friend before he gives us the OK to enter, throwing out that they’ve got around 25 girls working on shift. I couldn’t help but wonder if that was why the lot was full.
