Little Darlings Seattle. Basement Club. Surprisingly it's a black club. They were having a twerking contest when I showed up. Mostly black girls one mixed girl one latina. Maybe a kind of latina, but almost seemed white. Poor thing could not work twerk. She barely got it going down on all fours, but other than that it wasn't really working out...but she tried. Cute girl. I remember her name, but no need to associate the two since maybe someone’s taught her how to twerk by now. I wasn't really feeling the club vibe, and left a few stage tips before leaving.

The little bit of tipping that I did before rolling out was on top of a $20 door charge. I’d just paid $22 at Deja Vu Downtown, and wasn't really feeling that club either. So Seattle has eight Deja Vu clubs, according to a poster that I saw most of them are on the same pricing scale. The DV club one up on Howell is a standout. Definitely not cool with it turning Rick’s into a Deja Vu club. I shudder to think what would happen if Deja Vu took over most of the clubs in the country. When I walked outside, I noticed some weird garden looking thing inside big glass globes. Apparently they’re called Biospheres, and they are part of Amazon’s new headquarters in Seattle. Little Darlings is directly across the street from there.

So I stood there for a minute looking at them, then starting to walk back to the rental car. There were two guys standing on the sidewalk, and one them stepped in front of me to try and convince me to check out the club. I told him I’d just left, and he put on a smirk and didn’t step aside. It occurred to me at some point that these were two junior hype trainees and didn’t realize that getting in someone’s face is the exact opposite of what hype men are supposed to do. The idea is to make someone want to visit your club, not to punch you in the face. He seemed to comprehend that I wasn’t going to back into a club I’d just left when we had the same conversation again seconds later. Then he took a step away and wished me a good night. Until I hear something different in the reviews, this place is off my list when in Seattle.
