My wife and I went to the admiral for their yearly "Night of the Stripping Dead" Halloween show and arrived about an hour early at 9:00pm to check out some regular dances as well. This was our first time at Admiral Theatre and it was a good experience.

The theatre itself seems to have good views of the stage from what I could tell. We sat fairly close - at a table just behind the stage seats - but I think we would have been fine just about anywhere. There's even a floorplan on the Admiral website if you want to scope out the seating options beforehand. We were a little disappointed that the two poles on the side were going unused during our visit, but I appreciated that there is not a pole on the main stage. Standing and circling a pole isn't an option for featured dances at the Admiral - the dancers actually move and most engage the people in stageside seats.

The main show, "Night of the Stripping Dead", is the kind of thing that seems to set the Admiral apart from other clubs in Chicago. In addition to Halloween-themed strip shows from Admiral talent, we were treated to a very sexy contortionist, a knife thrower and nude model target (!!!), and some alternately sexy and funny burlesque performances. A few of the guys there seems like they may have been regulars who didn't know there would be a special show that night, and they couldn't be less interested in what was taking place, but I appreciated that the Admiral is willing to go beyond the standard strip club fare while still mixing in some fully-nude performances.
