Not So Golden.
Despite the odd turn out, I had a hell of a good time this evening. Doctorevil was wonderful enough to join me on a long night of club hopping and turned what otherwise would have been a disappointing evening into an enjoyable time to drink and make a new companion. It was a quiet and sluggish Wednesday night in Jacksonville by default, and businesses were slowly but surely making a recovery from recently being blown over by Irma, but we made the best of the night as we could.
We met up and began our evening with dinner and the first round of drinks at Scores, not yet starting the time to begin preying on the dancers, but at least warming up to do so. We had our share of food and I gave my hellos with a girl or two that I knew personally, and out of all the bars, we hit a draw between going to New Solid Gold or Gold Club first. Flipping a coin, we hit up NSG first, but if you go to read doctor’s review of our experience there, you can see that it wasn't one of the clubs better nights. 5 or 6 girls, all acting like we're invisible despite tipping most of them, and one failing to accept a request for a dance for us. An hour and several more drinks later, it's time to see how Gold Club has evolved since their re-opening.
We Uber’d our way to each club, and I'm glad we did. Several Long Island iced teas and a few big glasses of chardonnay later (I never said I make good decisions.), and I'm feeling high levels of impaired. I attended GC during their soft opening night, but chose not to review it yet, because I could tell from several aspects of that evening that there was room for improvement of the club before their grand opening. I think two weeks after that event was enough time to see if the club made any last minute improvements. If anything, I figured my judgement would be lighter since I was past the phase of tipsy, or maybe it would be broader.
