In town on business, so I figured I'd check out one of the local clubs and picked Mardi Gras because I heard the restaurant next door was good. The neighborhood looked shady and I heard about shootings nearby, but I'm used to that since most of my home club visits are to places near the trashed East St. Louis area. Still, I had no desire to tempt fate walking around there after dark, so I just got an uber from my hotel.

After a nice dinner and a couple drinks at the restaurant, I was in the mood to get happier, so I headed in to the Mardi Gras. The atmosphere was pleasant: the first floor was clean and well-lit but with a blue collar vibe. I liked the hardwood floor, since I can't stand the filthy carpet a lot of places have. The second floor was fancier and looked more high-end, which isn't my style so I just took a quick look around and headed back to the first floor and the stage.

Not much going on in terms of stage performances or pole tricks, but having more than one girl on stage at once made up for that. I hate sitting at a club with one girl on stage who I'm not at all interested in, and waiting forever for someone who's more my type to finally get up there. I took my time enjoying the view and checking out my options, then picked a hot blonde to take for a couple dances. She led me to a room off to the right of the stage, where a bouncer or dance counter or whatever was hanging out near the doorway. The dances were good, but I'm used to being able to touch a lot more at the clubs back home. I'd still recommend the place because the atmosphere was decent. I heard this club was a lot better in its heyday; would be nice to have seen it then.
