Diminishing Returns
This has been my primary club for over ten years. As I've gotten older I am there earlier, usually at 6 PM (when admission is $16 until 7 PM). The activity level in the early evening is way down. There are fewer dancers and fewer patrons, usually less than ten. But however slow things were in past years there was almost always a dancer on stage and others working in the theater seats. Lately the stage can be empty for a while. You are in a big theater with four other random guys and no dancers visible. I am concerned about the viability of the business.
Obviously 6 PM has never been the busiest time. I am not there from 10 PM until 4 AM closing. But the club has been cheating. That is, day shift dancers who are gone are still on the board and website as "present." No thriving club would do that. BTW there is no "juice bar." The club has always been patron unfriendly. That ancient low tech token process and a couple of vending machines only make the atmosphere quite dated. And the lap dance room upholstery has gone from red to black w/ dirt/grind/jizz.
Why do I still patronize Crazy Horse? The beautiful dancers of course. There are sweet sexy women who have been there for years and a trickle of new young dancers. It's almost always a good time. I hope it stays open in the increasingly busy Mid-Market area. But the business has never really come back from the last serious recession. You can go and have a stimulating time but do not assume it will still be there in 5 years.
