As for the layout of the club: there is no layout. The club had two (!) electrical fires in March of 2017 and has since been shut down. I drove past it the other day, and it had been mostly gutted. When it was still standing, it boasted a typical bar setup with a small dance stage. There were two lap dance areas in the back shaded by ferns; not very private at all. Could the management have concerns about dancer conduct because many of them also dance at the more... let's say... full-contact clubs in Bridgeport? Possibly. At least, that's what one dancer told me.
Truth be told, I actually liked Rumours (when it was still standing) and I look forward to it reopening. It was like going to a regular dive bar that just happened to have moderately-attractive topless women dancing there. It's certainly not one of those strip clubs that try to lure you in with that "big spender" strip club vibe. The drinks are priced the same as at any bar, and when the club was operating, the dances were a standard $20 per song -- as is customary along the shoreline and elsewhere in CT. The staff was always very nice here and having fun -- chatting it up with customers and dancers and otherwise keeping the vibe light.
I hope Rumours comes back at some point. It's a better alternative than going to any of the Bridgeport clubs. Hey, if you can hang with the Bridgeport scene, more power to you. Frankly, that city scares the hell out of me after 5PM.
