I was passing through the St Louis area on business travel, and I saw some reviews mentioning that Hollywood had a change of ownership. I've visited the area off and on for the last five years, and I stopped visiting Hollywood in mid 2016 since dancer quality and overall experience was well below its nearest competitor (Larry's). Intrigued and hopeful that this place, newly rebranded as "Scarlett's Cabaret," could return to the former glory I witnessed many years ago, I figured I'd roll the dice.

As I stepped through the entry door, I was initially surprised that the interior decor was unchanged, featuring lots of neon pink and blue lighting. The chick working the door register informed me cover was $12, but strangely when I was rung up on a card the price was only $10. Had I just avoided a hustle? At 12:30 on a Wednesday night, there were girls dancing on two stages with maybe fifteen patrons milling about. I'd estimate I saw about 8 dancers total, mostly white with a couple mixed-latinas. Dancer quality included a single knockout (9 to 10) and no one truly unfortunate (5 or lower), but mostly 6s and 7s.

With the exception of the knockout, stage sets were uninspiring, though I tossed in tips regardless. When not on stage, the dancers seemed to have identified their marks, and I was only approached by a single 6 in the hour I spent there. Out of boredom and something almost approaching gratitude that anyone talked to me, I agreed to get her a drink that must have cost at least $10 on my tab. Speaking of drinks, waitress service was inattentive and it seemed like bar service was also slow.
