Not a destination but you could do worse
Context:
It has been a little less than a year since my last visit here. I was a little board since other plans had fallen through and decided to see what the situation here was. I arrive at 10 and bailed at 11 on a Saturday night. A quick trip.
Location:
The club is located a few miles “North” (or “West” depending on your compass) of town, mostly out by itself except for the neighboring golf course. Penn DOT putting in the turn lane a few years ago makes the commute so much better then the glory days.
Parking / Valet:
Large lot. No valet. Never ever had a problem in this regard and certainly not in recent years.
The Club:
It is a big warehouse style club. First you enter a small lobby. Pay $20 cover. ID checked but not scanned. Left into large non-smoking main room. Two skinny runway stages down the main part of the room with the DJ tower and standard LD area off to the right. The separate free beer patio is out back. The music volume wasn’t bad but they have the bass turned all the way up. It gave me a bad headache. My biggest complaint was the the AC was on full blast. I was freezing cold. I can’t imagine how the naked dancers felt. You couldn’t leave any money on the stage “rail” as the AC jets were blowing everything around. There were two stages going with a fairly decent crowd. The vast majority of the crowd seemed to me to be in the 18-25 range, which at other times of the year would make sense, but seemed odd for the middle of summer. I know I and others complain about ID scans but tonight demonstrates why is it a necessary evil. This one “kid” (maybe really drunk?) started a fight with the DJ and doorman, and smashed the computer at the entrance. All of the dancers were freaked out and it just killed the vibe. On one had I would have liked to see local LEO take this guy away. On the other hand, you just don’t want that kind of attention for the local NIMBYs.
Dancers:
I’m not totally sure but I think there was only 7 dancers on shift. (The rotation recycled in just about an hour.) Not terrible but “light” for a Saturday night. All white. One dancer was a little old for the profession but she did have a perfect body for the job. The other 6 were young (25 or less). At least one was very new, deer-in-the-headlights vibe, maybe even just 18 y/o. Ink wasn't bad. I’d say all were on the light to none end of the spectrum. One was a little on the chunk side, but no where near some of the scary stuff you see these days. Around half were trying to break the ice, introduce names and such at the stage. Vast improvement over my previous visits. I’d actually say two were very much my “type:” young, hot, no ink. Younger me would be very interested in the one, but older me just doesn’t have that kind of objective anymore. Don’t get me wrong. I though the talent was generally good, but also not approaching the exceptional of the glory days or to justify the GPS business model.
Stage Show:
With two stages going, it was a 4 song set per dancer. Nominally, lingerie, topless, nude, nude, or some variation of this rotating between the two active stages. Not a ton of stage side interaction but more than zero. This is a low “pit” style stage which I tend to prefer.
Dances:
$20 per 4 minutes. Strictly monitored. At best one-way only, but sometimes less. YMWV.
Value:
I struggle with this one. I think if your just going out for some scenery and maybe a few small sips of beer, this is ok value. If you are expecting any kind of mileage you are not going to be impressed.
Overall:
The talent was appealing enough that I could conceivable see this being a sightseeing only kind of thing; but personally I’d rather invest my time, money, and effort elsewhere.
Museum Rating:
Two of the dancers were very much my type, but on an absolute scale I can really only say 7/10.
Amusement Rating:
Very solidly 4/10. Better than air dances, and decent scenery; but not anywhere close to what can be had at other places.
