First time, last time at this place

Was out with friends Saturday night, but since they're all married and I am not, they had curfews and I was left with the choice of ending my fun at around 11 or finding something to do. So I let my curiosity get the better of me and went to Goodfellas. I'd been across the street to the Silver Slipper and was always curious about this place anyway.

First, a little about the club itself. As no doubt others have described, it's actually 2 clubs in one, only it isn't. Let me explain. The main club is Goodfellas. 3 stages, a bar, and a decent sized seating area. Because of alcohol, it's topless only. There are a lot of colored effects lighting, but no good fill lights on the stages, so it's hard to see the action unless you're right there at the stage. Kind of makes it a disadvantage for those of us who prefer to hang back, watch the show, and deal with the dancers one on one as they mill around selling dances. Sure, you can go to the rail and tip and get a little boob in your face and all that, but I actually enjoy lapdances and the initial conversation that leads to them if the girl's personality is such that she doesn't go straight for the hustle.

Across an outdoor patio is The Southern Belle VIP lounge, a nod to the time when the whole place was called Thee Southern Belle. This part is only open Thursday - Saturday as late as 4 AM, serves no alcohol, and is fully nude, both on the stage and lapdances. It wasn't at all what I expected. Everything I'd read lead me to believe that it was just a smaller, more intimate version of the main part. Perhaps one stage and a few tables scattered about to sit. The reality is that it's a room about the size of a decent sized living room, a stage in the corner, and standing room only. In the back is a fairly large outdoor patio with seating, but even in the middle of the night, Charleston summers can be hot and muggy, so it's not the height of comfort. It's a bit disorienting, and not really ideal for the solo player, unless you're throwing money around like some wannabe rapper (and there were plenty of those there, which detracted from the overall experience of the smaller setting).
