Got there at opening

I was killing time while picking some friends up from the airport on the way to the Keys, and timed my arrival in Miami to coincide with noon, when Tootsie's opens. Its hard not to feel a little lame walking in right at open and being the only guy in there. The parking lot is huge, with the best parking reserved for valeted cars. This can be a pain during the wet season in Florida. There was no cover being charged when I walked in, but there were plenty of dancers.

There was a waitress, but I guess she wasn't going to budge off her position from the bar for just one customer. The tables and chairs are terrible. Some clubs have those big, soft, deep easy chairs with large tables. Tootsie's bought their tables and chairs with a mind towards fitting as many as possible in front of the main stage. Chairs smaller than airline seats, with minimal cushion on the seat, none on the back, no arms, and crammed three to a table.

The table tops were no larger than the chair seats.
