Where the locals go.

I haven't been clubbing in quite some time, but over that delay Visions has still remained the "best" mainstream New Orleans club, IMO. The girls are not of the caliber of San Francisco's Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater or Tampa's Mons Venus, since in those cities a typical Visions girls would have to dance only at a second-tier club. And in New Orleans at other clubs, all of which are located near each other in the French Quarter (aside from a few African-American "ghetto-style" dives), you CAN sometimes (especially on special holiday weekends) find some few super-hotties of the Mons Venus level of looks. But Visions has a neighborhood-y feel, and girls that are hot ENOUGH, and plenty of new young starting-out talent, so I think Visions is absolutely is better than anything in the rest of the city. Certainly Visions is better than any French Quarter clubs for tourists -- Visions has, basically, no tourist annoyance, no "throw the Mardi Gras beads" games, no "woo whoo wooooo" screaming. If there's someone there from out of town, he knows how to read TUSCL and therefore he knows how to find a better club and how to act in it when he gets there. :)

They've improved a bit since last I went there several years ago. They now have an outdoor smoking deck, due to the new Orleans Parish ordinance against smoking inside any public place. It looks very very pleasant, I scoped it out, though nobody else was out there. About 20 by 20 feet is covered from the rain, another 50 by 50 feet (? I'm guessing?) is a wide-open deck, and the whole thing is completely surrounded by a high fence, thus making it possible for dancers (and you) to remain entirely unobserved (which wouldn't be a problem since this club is in an industrial and un-populated area of town anyway) while you're out there.
