One of my two go-to clubs in Austin

I have visited Austin once or twice a year for the last eight years. I always stay a week or two and visit 3-5 strip clubs. Since 2009 I have managed to visit all of the clubs in town except for Rick’s and Foxy’s near Round Rock and Babes near nothing and I’ve noticed that my favorite clubs have shifted considerably over the years.

Early on I always went to Yellow Rose and Expose and sometimes to Sugar’s Uptown Cabaret (now called Perfect 10 South, near the former Highland Mall). In recent years I always visit the Landing Strip and XTC with occasional stops at Chicas Bonitas and Hot Bodies. I’ll also hit Expose if I’m in the vicinity.

This review covers two rather different visits to the Landing Strip, on two consecutive Tuesday afternoons last month. I love Tuesdays at LS because lap dances cost $5. Both times I arrived in early to mid-afternoon and avoided the $5 cover because I still have some free admission passes that a stripper gave me a couple of years ago. I paid $10 for a “VIP booth” for two, nicely situated along the wall between the main stage and the dressing room door. This minor outlay lets the dancers know that you’re interested in having them stop by for $5 lappers and possibly more.
