Extreme Drink Hustle Killed It!!
Last time I went to Flamingo was over a year ago and it was probably my favorite strip club experience. Beautiful, young dancers...a decent amount of dancers...and lets just say the mileage/value in the private lap dance booth was the best I've come across.
Fast forward to Monday (a few weeks back). I was one of maybe 3 customers in the place and I only counted 2-3 dancers. One dancer was enormous, one was busy the whole time with one customer, and the other was on the older side...but attractive. I paid my admission fee, and then stood at the bar for several minutes waiting for the bartender. Finally, the manager/owner came over and I purchased my $10 cup of ice with a little soda. I sat down by the stage and was immediately approached by the enormous dancer. Literally, less than 10 seconds later....the bartender waitress appeared and wanted to know if I wanted to by the lady a drink. I agreed, just to get rid of her...and the waitress came back with a small glass of Sprite and said it would be $20! She said it was "a double". A double Sprite!? I ended up just paying $10 and giving her a couple bucks tip...but the dancer had already went away.
The older, more attractive dancer came by and no sooner did she "hello"...and the bartender/waitress was right there again...asking if I wanted to "buy the lady a drink". At this point, I was starting to get annoyed and declined. The dancer got a little upset and said something like, "Really!? WTF!?? Cheap." I tried to explain that it really bothered me when a place did the "drink hustle"...especially to the extreme Flamingo was doing it. It's wrong, it's a scam, and it distracts the customers from what their focus should be...the dancers. I end up paying money I'd rather pay directly to the dancers.
