Fun still available

I wouldn't call DD's location seedy or questionable as other reviewers have asserted. The club is on US1 (Ridgewood Ave.) in an older, and somewhat tired, part of Daytona Beach. It is not hard to find and has adequate parking for days, plus relatively safe side street parking for crowded nights. The US1 side of DDs is a blank wall and the entrance is on the opposite (west) side of the building. Interior layout has bee described, but generally - the bar runs most of the east side of the building (opposite the entrance) with lap dance booths (including sheer curtains) along the north and west sides separated by the entrance, VIP rooms behind the DJ on the south and main dance platform in roughly the center of the room.

When there are only a few customers and dancers, the place seems very large, but anytime there are over 100 customers plus the usual night staff and dancers the 150+ people make the place seem small, noisy, and even claustrophobic. When I am in the area, Diamond Dolls is my usual first choice, but I do prefer afternoons when it is not so hectic, smoky and jammed. This trip, I had not been for several months so I checked recent reviews which seemed to indicate that DDs was "less entertaining" than it had been. I almost chose a different club, but decided on DDs simply because I knew how to find it easily.

I arrived a little before 4pm on a Friday and there were just a few cars in the lot and the inside seemed almost vacant with only about 6 or seven customers and about 8+ dancers. The only bouncer I saw was in the southeast corner with one of the two women tending bar. The DJ was only announcing dancer names and song titles without going into the usual DJ rants most people hate. One slightly chubby dancer was on stage lethargically shaking to the Hip-Hop tune then playing. When I got to the bar, the second bartender immediately came over and promptly returned with my reasonably priced beer, smiling and thanking me for my tip. Only moments later, a Hispanic dancer (turns out she was from So. Florida, both parents from Puerto Rico) slides onto the stool next to me and asks if I wanted company.
