Getting better, but I don't think it'll ever get there.

I made my semi-annual pilgrimage to The Runway. As I've said before, this club is the closest one to my house in the Portland area and I *really* wish it were what I look for in a strip club. Unfortunately it's a cop's idea of what a strip club should be. Yes, The Runway is owned by a former Washington County Sheriff Deputy. He and I have different ideas about what makes a strip club great.

I went in on a Thursday night around 11:30. It was five bucks to get in (in Hillsborito?!? Business must not be that great). Inside the club is pretty nice. It looks a bit like you're in a giant double-wide, but it's a nicely decorated giant double-wide. The girls are mostly pretty nice too; 12-14 of them and much improved since my last visit six months or so ago. I only saw a couple of fatties and even they weren't "Dream On" or "Club Skinn" fat. No permanent back rolls this time and a handful of girls were solid eights on the 0-10 scale.

I got a bottle of beer at the bar (five bucks) and went to sit at the rack. If you like the stage show this might be your place. They have two stages and kept both running until 12:30, despite a distinct lack of customers. Most of the girls were reasonably hot and personable at the rack, though none got as intimate as you find at other Portland clubs. A couple of the girls never strayed more than a foot or two from the pole. A couple of others got fairly close, but none were willing to get closer than six inches or so.
