Mediocre

Well, I did return to the Playhouse in January. I had reported from visits last summer and in October that the club is much less entertaining than it had been. I've only ever visited when in town midweek. A couple of years ago, the joint was jumping even in the middle of the week. They've had a couple dozen high energy dancers working, and their amateur night contest is one of the best anywhere. Well, that's not what I have seen on my last few visits. Fewer dancers, fewer customers, less energy. On January 18 they had only five girls for the amateur contest, which is barely enough for them to hold it.

The basics are still pretty good. The place is not at all high end or luxurious, but it is clean and safe. The cover on Wednesday amateur nights is $20, and they have plenty of options for private dances. You can also bring your own drinks, which is a major bonus for some. I may still go back when I am in town, but my expectations are much lower than they used to be.
