NOLA Experince
Another visit to NOLA, and another chance to taste the local culture ... and also to visit a club. This trip, I thought I would hit the place that called from me across the street from one of my favorite restaurants. Like many of the other French Quarter clubs, you can grab a drink without even entering at a decent price - but the indoor prices are much higher. No cover that night, just had to flash an ID. Mardi Gras was just starting, so the club was bursting with talent. Turns out, a lot of out-of-towners come in to work, and it almost felt like the ratio was a girl for every guy. Of the clubs I've visited over the years in New Orleans, the inside of of this one is probably the most sophisticated. It really feels high end, which with no cover is a nice feel.
I've got heartburn on the return on investment; but I always seem to do down here. $40 per dance away from the main floor, and those songs roll on quickly. I got a fair bit of encouragement to try out the private rooms; so I bit on a half hour with a cutey who was up from Tampa (thing she worked at Odyssey down there). $550 for that, and that's before tip. It's a good half hour, but it's generally tame by rule - and the bouncer checked in three times unannounced. So you can tell she was holding back.
