I've been to the Candy Store...

I've been to the Candy Store now about three times, and its really become a favorite. I've only been there in the afternoons on weekdays, so I can't speak on how the evenings and weekends are.. though driving past in the evening, the parking lot is always full.. and on weekends there's usually a large motorcyle clientele as riding Cave Creek/Carefree is pretty popular with bikers. Anyway, you enter the club near the middle of the building.. bar and smaller stage area to your right.. larger stage area to the left. Each stage is centrally located in each section, surrounded by decently comfortable chairs... your usually tiny table and chairs config.. and couches along all the exterior walls. Early in the afternoon the larger stage is unused, so everyone sticks to the smaller area.. not too many dancers working.. looked like there were about 5 in rotation, dancing doubles on the stage... but with a steady influx of dancers coming on shift and a steady influx of customers as well. Right around 2pm the larger stage starts up, the girls start doing one dance on each, and the whole place begins to fill. I was there this past Monday, and by 3pm all the couch seats were pretty much taken.. the rest 2/3rd filled.. and a larger group of girls in rotation. I was surprised how busy it was. There's a solid mix of ladies.. definately not model/pornstar quality for the most part like say, Bourbon St.. but quality nonetheless. And I'm personally more into the more real less plastic types anyway. Most seem to enjoy what they're doing, are very friendly and personable. There are a couple zombies though (as there are everywhere), but since the dances are only 5 bucks, its worth it to sample and its cheap to weed out the clinkers. All in all a very laid back place with a neighborhood feel.. folks behind the bar and the cocktail waitress all seem like good people.. a crown and coke will cost you 5.75.. and a plain coke runs 2.50.. Music is a good mix, with few annoying songs. In fact, I learned how sensuous Tool can be with a girl rubbing breasts in your face. Wow, whodathunkit. There ain't a lot of glitz here, this club's been around forever and shows its age a bit.. but for the price, and for the easy going atmosphere, its a fun place to hang out.
