Watch out for vulture ROBs, but management is good
Maybe I'm spoiled by my Tampa, Miami, New Orleans and Vegas experiences, but my first time checking out the Atlanta strip club scene I was not impressed. I stayed at Tattletale a while hoping for a good time, but instead had a rip-off experience – luckily the manager was helpful, so give the place credit for that. It's a pretty cool atmosphere, but I wasn't really feeling the dancers. My night actually started with checking out the much talked about Folly's (since I know it from rap music) on a Thursday night, but that visit was so short it's not even worth a review. Too noisy and too crowded for my liking, so I Uber'd to Tattletale, not even getting my money's worth on the Folly's cover charge. Anyways, on to Tattletale. The bar was too crowded to sit at, so I bought a beer and moved around between sitting at the stage and by the stage. I tipped the dancers I was interested in, but since I wasn't in VIP or at the bar, I had virtually no interaction with them. On some level, it can be relaxing not getting hustled constantly, but it's a strip club after all. I came to have some fun. After a while of sitting around bored, I was obviously showing this on my face/body language. So a vulture in her 30s saw me as a PL to shake down. I was walking up to the bar to get another beer when a dancer grabs onto me asking if I want to have fun. I tell her yes. She tells me to come to VIP so we can have fun. I say ok, since my guard is down from being bored and looking for action. She grabs a friend, also in her 30s, talking to some other guys. This should have been a huge red flag, but we continued to the VIP area. In VIP, I sat with the friend while the vulture went to grab a waitress. The waitress came by and got drink orders, and had me pay for the room (30 minutes I believe) right there. Dumbass me should have pumped the brakes, but I did it. After the drinks, I finally asked the vulture, so what's this going to cost. She's like 200...for each of us. That's a big nope for me. The friend nicely volunteers to leave. The vulture gets bent out of shape and basically calls me poor (I had about $400 in my wallet, but I wasn't spending it on a dance from a pair of 30somethings with fake tits and no promised extras). I tell her I don't want to do the dance at this point. I ask about a refund for the room, and she says that's up to the waitress and storms off. Luckily, the manager gave me no trouble. He asked everyone's names (waitress and dancer, which I remembered at the time) and he gave me money back (I want to say $100-140, forget exact figure), no fuss. These women in their 30s with their fake tits think they can make any single guy lose his mind if they bring a friend to the dance, thinking any shmuck will fall for a threesome tease. Since management was helpful and vulture ROBs are just part of going to strip clubs (they're everywhere), I stayed, hoping to find someone else. No luck, I left pretty bummed, with a lot of cash in my wallet.
