Wednesday evening visit

OK so I have visited this club atleast 20 times or more in the past year. My last visit was about 2 weeks ago before tonite. I stopped in around 9 to see what the action was like and was SHOCKED to learn they have raised their drink prices substantially. Like, over 300%. A well cocktail used to be $1.50, and it is now $5. I nearly did a spit take when the waitress told me how much it was. I told her I had been to the club numerous times and that it was always $1.50. She made some excuse about it ringing up that way all day, and said she would check with the bartender and let me know. She never came back. I finished my drink and left.

So, either I got hustled by some new waitress, or this place has jumped the shark. OK, I can see going from $1.50 to $2.50, or maybe even $3.00. But to raise it that much is just ridiculous. Add to that the fact that they now have a bar upstairs and are charging, again, like 3 times what the same drink is in the main club, and it feels like this club is trying to gouge people. All in all, there was a weird vibe going on there tonite in particular. There were two police cars parked in the lot chatting with each other. This was weird as I had never seen it. When I sat down, the music was unusually low volume. At some point, the song finished and the DJ was no where to be found for like 2 minutes. I had never seen anything like that before either. Maybe this was just a very off night, and maybe that waitress made a mistake. But, if not, I think this may be the last time Ive visited this place. The talent tonite was also particularly unimpressive - mostly 5's and 6's and particularly bottom heavy.

I honestly hate to write this review, as this club has been pretty solid over the past couple of years - with some attractive ladies, cheap drinks, free food. Its the reasonable drink prices that make it affordable to go and drop $60 or $120 on dances. Not any more evidently. If anyone else can confirm this, please reply. I hate to think this club is pricing itself out of the market.
