Budget-Friendly Bummer
I think most of you know what to expect from the ‘Hugger’ since there are so many other reviews. They say the place never really changes, and since it was our first time there, I have to imagine It’s still where it’s always been, and still looks the same as it always has. I’d guess prices haven’t changed much either, thankfully. Cover on a Saturday night was $5, our cokes were $5, dances along the far wall were $10. Very reasonable and perhaps the best thing about this place to me personally.
When we got there, I really didn’t see anyone to my liking, but we sat and watched the stage for a little while. The girls would go up and dance to three songs they chose from a Jukebox. They’d remove their top on the third. There wasn’t a lot of stage tipping going on, so it didn’t surprise me when they came around after their set to try to get tips for their performance. Whatever, sure, here’s a couple dollars. I don’t mind giving them something for their effort.
It turned out to be a long while before I saw anyone that interested me. Older women, bigger gals, ‘why is she even here?’ saw a few of those. Not my type. Luckily there came a bright spot in a sea of ‘meh’. She was attractive, great body, tattoos, amazing on the pole. She was so good in fact, I again found myself wondering ‘why is she even here?’, but for very different reasons.
When she came by asking for tips I made sure to ask her about dances. She said to give her twenty minutes. Well, knowing how dancers can be I was hoping for the best, but expected to not see her again any time soon. Funnily enough I did see her again, much later, taking someone else back for dances. Normally being right about something makes me happy, oh well.
Luckily there was one other girl who caught my eye on stage, so things were looking up! Or not? When I asked her about dances, she said she was with someone and would have to ask him. She spent most of her time at the bar with presumably that guy, and then eventually took him back for dances. Can’t say I didn’t expect that, and you know what they say about broken clocks.
For me, the night was a bummer, a bust, a big goose egg even. I spent most of my time watching the stage, watching the other customers, and saying ‘no thank you’ to dance offers I had no interest in. Other guy I was with had a nice time with the girl he took a fancy to. It was her birthday so he was back there for a while. She was on the skinny side with glasses, cute but not quite for me. Not much else to report there.
So the first time here was not the best night for me. The prices were the one redeeming quality in my opinion. Actually I kinda liked the jukebox thing versus a DJ, but I found I didn’t catch most of their names as a result. Despite how the night went, I think maybe we’ll try this place again sometime. After all, $10 dances are still a heck of a deal, when you can get them.
