Playhouse

I had not been to the Playhouse in years, but I heard it had been remodeled and decided to check it out. The club, located on Middlebelt Road near the airport, does look better for the remodeling. It is rather small and has one stage in the middle of the room. I sat by the stage opposite the bar. The waitress was very friendly, and I ordered a bucket of beer (which held 6 bottles instead of the usual 5 in Detroit area clubs). I think the price of the bucket was $20.

The room was pretty dark and it smelled of smoke. Most of the customers were sitting at the bar and seemed like regulars. The clientele seemed a little lower on the socio-economic scale than that at the Penthouse of Flight Club.

Around 10 dancers were working. They ranged from 4 to 8 in my opinion. There was one very attractive blonde and two attractive black dancers. I tipped these dancers, and they came over after finishing their stage sets and talked. All the dancers were friendly and one of the black dancers gave me her phone number. They all told me that a lot of fun could be had in VIP, but I did not take any of them to VIP. Maybe next time.
