still meh

I've been in here a few times lately, mostly during the day. I have to say, my opinion hasn't changed much since my last review over a year ago. The previous review from Papi Chulo does a good job with the layout, so I'll skip that part except to add that pictures on the website are accurate & the champagne rooms are along that side wall behind the crowded area with tables. The curtains are open when they're empty, so you can peek in and see what's inside if you want - not much, a little couch & a table, which is enough I guess.

During the daytime visits, they had a decent variety of girls but they were mostly the same girls on probably 4 visits on different days of the week over the course of a month or so. 3 black girls in their mid twenties, 1 slim, 1 med, 1 thicker. A slimmer but somewhat saggy white girl with a fair number of tattoo's in her 30s or maybe late 20's and just worn. Then there were a couple older ladies in their 40's or older, maybe Latina, I'm not really sure. There were a few other girls that weren't there every time. Over my visits, all of the girls approached at one point or another, most of them made more than one attempt. I had experience with the white girl several years back at Porthole, she wasn't great then and she was clearly much worse for wear now so I skipped her every time she came over. The first few times I was there, they ran a 2-4-1 on the hour, and made an announcement that they did it every hour on the hour. On those 2-4-1's, I tried out a few dances. They were pretty much all the same, not terrible but limited by the layout of the dance area and the lack of privacy. I did really enjoy the dances from the slim black girl, but she didn't do anything special/extra I just liked her body and attitude. Overall, this place has by far the worst $25 dollar dances of the area, every other SC in the area offers a better place for them and the dances themselves are better. The only place with a worse dance area is Flavors, but those are $15 and I suspect that area is being remodeled after the fire there that currently has the place closed. The more recent visits, I didn't catch any 2-4-1's, and I know I was there at the top of the hour a few times. So, I guess the canceled that. So, at full price I'm not inclined to do a lot of dances here. Most of the girls mentioned the rooms, which go for $50 for 30 mins to the house, but I never got far enough with any of them to find out what their end was, the girl I was interested in was the only one who didn't ask about rooms. I was only there two nights, and I saw mostly different girls both nights, younger, fitter, blacker than the day shift. On stage, during the day, there are periods with no girl on stage. When they do have a girl on stage, she does three songs. Most of the time they take their tops off, some girls get naked but most don't. Effort and talent ranged widely, some girls just kinda meander around and others do all manner of tricks.

During the day, there were rarely more than 3/4 other customers. Most seemed to be regulars who just came in and drank with their favorite girl as far as I could see, but I don't pay that much attention. At night, the customer count was only slightly higher, but admittedly I was there early - around 10pm or so. I never saw a waitress, but the bartender did come over to me when I was sitting away from the bar. Bar service was decent but not great, the bartenders tend to chat with their regulars and/or play on their phones sometimes. They seem to want to bring drinks on their schedule, rather than when I need one. They are friendly, and at least two of them were pretty damn hot and reasonably flirty/fun. The music is varied, it seems each DJ plays what he wants. Sometimes its hip-hop, sometimes stripper rock, sometimes more rap. The DJ was never too obnoxious with blabbering and the volume was at a reasonable level. The stage is small and only raised a few inches off the ground, so there is no tip rail per se. You can just walk up and tip though.
