The second I saw this club I remembered it and it took me doubling back to actually walk in. The place is actually not a total dump, but it looks pretty sketchy from the outside. My last visit here wasn't horrible, but I couldn't help but laugh because it was not that great. It's a two story building with statues out front. Kind of like classical art statues. To be honest about it, once you get over how the place looks on the outside those statues are actually kind of cool. They are also very smartly attached to the building so they aren't that easy to walk off with. So anyway, I paid a $7 cover and they had $2 beers until 10. When I walked in and headed for the bar, in my head I figured this would be a $10 visit. Cover + $1 tip + $2 beer. Two dancers were on stage practicing, and one of them was nice enough to greet me and said they'll be right back out. The DJ (who was actually pretty decent) said the show was going to start soon. Then things stalled a bit. Music but no dancers on stage. I couple probably keep myself busy long enough to finish the beer, but this was not going to be a place to hang around in that long.

Only one dancer on the floor. That was Kendra. Took her a few minutes to walk over. I'm not as approachable as I used to be, so I was a little surprised. Nice girl. Very chatty. I decided to get a couple of table dances because she was cool, and relocated to a table. The chairs are a little interesting because they are red office chairs, like the ones you have at a desk in a cubicle. There is a raised platform against the back wall (which is the kind of the front wall since it's directly in front of the entry door) and it had chairs lined up in two rows that kind of looked like clinic waiting room chairs. Here's the thing, I couldn't care less about how fancy a club is decorated so long as it's a good club. The red office chairs were actually comfortable. Just try to have a way to brace yourself if you get a $10 table dance. If you tip at the stage you have the option to tip at stageside or at a small set of stairs. There is no rail at the stairs, so if you are unlucky a dancer could put you right on your ass for $1 tip. The dances upstairs are done in doorless booths for $25 a song. They're not bad for $25. Probably somewhere in between the Men's Club in Raleigh and Capital Cabaret on the fun meter for a typical dancer.

So as I'm waiting for the place to pick up a bit, a guy walks in off the street and starts asking me and the dancer sitting at the table a whole bunch of questions. So within an hour I have a dancer walk up to me barside and start talking and then a customer literally walks straight to me and starts talking. Total stranger. Asks us where he should sit. I'm not shitting you. If you guessed the place the gentleman chose to sit out of all the places in a half empty club would be right beside me, you would be correct. In a moment of politeness I let him know that beers were $2 until 10. He told me drinking beer was like drinking Kool Aid. It was actually quite awesome and he was in full on Big Shot Mode. The dancer just stared at me like "WTF". Turns out he was an alright guy who was probably wondering where the heck the girls were just like I was. By then there were a couple of dancers trickling out onto the floor and a few more customers. They were all sitting in the last row of chairs, though. Quite strange. As for Mr. Big Deal, I wasn't quite sure what to say when he mentioned the girls seemed to be treating me a lot better than him. That's the first time in years I thought about bringing up TUSCL, but there's much more to go wrong with there than right. If the guy in the striped polo shirt is on TUSCL, you met wallanon and made enough of an impression to get in a review.
