First visit since the flip to Dreamgirls
I used to go here when it was one of Colacurio's joints back in the day, and I was curious to see how it changed since it became Dreamgirls at Fox's. It looks like they cleaned the place up a bit, but it's really in need of a makeover. It pretty much felt like the Fox's of old, and that's not necessarily a good thing. While the bottom line is that it's a place with a stage and poles and naked dancers, much could be said for giving the interior a refresher to enhance the experience, but I digress. There were about 4 or 5 dancers on duty at the time, and I can't say I recognize any of them from the old days. This was the afternoon, so maybe the regulars come in later. There were a handful of customers there-- a mix of bored middle age guys and one couple, the female half of which looked really uncomfortable. I wasn't really in the mood to get any dances, and I quickly made that known to the 3 dancers who approached me during the course of my 45 minute stay. Pro-tip guys-- girls actually appreciate it when you let them know up front that you're not buying. Don't be weird about it, just let them know that you don't want to waste their time. You may even be rewarded by having one with decent conversational skills say "fuck it" and sit with you for a lack of anything better to do, and wind up having a fairly decent time just bullshitting about nothing in particular. That's what ended up happening with me. Never did get her name, though...
