needs pretty serious refresh
I had been out of town for a few years, and wanted to hit Treasures when I had a moment. I sort of wish I hadn't. They appear to have replaced some of the furniture, which it good given how ratty it was, but the women are not what they once were. Several friends said that things had gotten much better, but I am reminded of how the stewardesses in American commercial aviation haven't gotten less pleasant-looking since the 80s -- they are the same stewardesses! Well,Treasures isn't someplace where strippers go to die, but the age range was definitely somewhere close to 40 that afternoon. A hard 40.
Worth a visit? Well, sort of, but not like it was. The afternoon hustle has never been that bad, but it was there, and after shooing off six dancers and getting a beer, I was left completely alone for 45 minutes. It was almost like I was up at St. James! When I got up to get a dancer for dances, I went through three before I get to one who didn't seem like she was sucking all of the happiness out of the room. Discussing this with the fourth got a 30 minute discussion of dancer economics, but at least she was pleasant to talk to. And she didn't get upset when I unzipped after the fourth dance. Long story short, management is paying attention, attendance is down, and competition is up. That would explain the long faces.
Still lots of big blondes. I wish that it was less shabby.
